Found out last night who C?????? is. And I knew who it was. Well, i knew who it was but I'd forgotten. "Humans are amnesia machines." It's so true. So today I'm rereading Microserfs and thinking that i need to spend more time at work. And I recognize this emotion as a sick urge to spend more time communing with tech, letting it wash over me, learning things by osmosis. and I want to spend all of my time writing for my Web sites for about the next month and it depresses me that because I have a boyfriend and a job and a life I won't be able to do it. I used the last of my roll of film yesterday taking pictures of the fantastically ugly Aurora Bridge and will be developing the pictures today. So i'll finally have pictures of Gypsy and Jess' wedding, and be able to send prints up to Katy in Minnesota. I want to fall into my geekdom like a feather bed. Learn design, try new and complicated things with content. I want to really learn Photoshop. Speaking of, I modified the picture of me that lives here. Removal of the background made it a little easier to actually make out my facial features. Someday i'll have a picture taken of me that i actually like. Someday. On yet another note, i had an idea for a story about a woman who retreats into a treehouse and discovers that hell is not other people, hell is mockingbirds that sing all night and squirrels who gnaw holes in the roof. typing ahead: term used to describe the way people, when faced with impenetrable lag, will keep typing in perfect faith that their keystrokes are being captured and will be sent on in good time. I find myself doing this even on a local system when characters not appearing on a screen is generally a symptom of something other than lag. Help, I'm in lag mode! The Cacophany site cracks me up. Particularly the Walking Tour of Ballard. (I live in Ballard.) also, I went to Archie McPhee's today and got a costume element for my Icon costume and presents for a couple of people. Oh, and a note for you who are actually following this: the upload time at the bottom is reflective only of when i first uploaded it. Generally, this gets updated throught the day.
