January 20th; my dreams are wringing wet
Sounds: Tori Amos, Boys for Pele

Words: Robert Anton Wilson, Prometheus Rising

what did you like about me?
and don't say my strength or daring
'cause now I think i'm at your mercy
and it's my first time for this kind of thing

on waking from a dream I am drowning

i remember fighting
my way to the surface,
clearing my nose with a gasp
and counting one two three
my body launched into the dark
and counting three two one
I fall back into this red room
this place filled with familiar smells
this streetlamp-lit space
I remember light
silent explosions of breath-lack
spinning into my chest
and counting one two three
I am flying through the dark
and counting three two one I am landing
in water, in blankets, in waking
fear of what sleeps in me.

one two three I am dreaming
of anemones and salt
three two one I am coming
up from the tidepools.

one two three my dreams are all about water
three two one and I always drown.
