You thought you were dreaming,
you could wake up dead
And you'll never know what's real
All this damage is running loose in your head
and it really matters to me

Oh, no, baby don't go
walking down Suicide Alley

Well, today (should) debut the new navigation scheme of Following Smoke...I hope. I think the frames will help people find what they're looking for. now, all i really need to do is figure out a navigation scheme for people who aren't equipped with frames, as I just know that Shannon is going to look at these pages with Lynx.

Now I think I've figured it out. I'll have to test it when i actually get it online, but I think this works.

I'm thinking about setting up a quarantine tank for my fish setup. If I ever want to add more fish to the tropical tank, the quarantine tank will be an absolute necessity. One of the fish in the big tank (I have two tanks, a 55 gallon tropical tank and a 26 gallon goldfish tank; the tropical tank has a nice variety of schooling fish) died the other day. Apparently, I frightened it badly enough during a water change that it injured itself on some driftwood. It scraped the underside of its chin fairly badly; i'm afraid this made it an easy target for the larger tetras, who tend to be a bit aggressive. I wanted to move the fish into a quarantine tank in an attempt to protect it from the aggressors, but since nothing was available, the fish died. (And, i hope, was scavenged. I never found the body.)

I'm pondering buying a small 10 gallon setup and keeping the conditions in it as close to the conditions in the big tank as possible. If I ever have to set put any of the goldfish in quarantine, i can make do with a bucket while the quarantine tank cools down to accommodate them.

I'd also like to get a 20 gallon tank, as i have an empty spot on one of the stands that's just begging to have another tank on it. Once you've got one tank, adding more tanks doesn't increase maitenence time or costs significantly, and it would be nice to have a setup that I'd done myself from scratch.

It's really been a kind of nothing day. The calm before the storm, I suspect.
